Expect A Lot From Call Of Duty Black Ops 2
Gamers from every single part of the world will be counting down the days until the amazing game that is Black Ops 2 is finally released. The amount of attention a big game gets does not go unnoticed, but in respect to Black Ops 2, there is even more than normal.
The first game or the spin off was such a massive success that it has in turn put a wave of huge pressure on its second edition. Now people are expecting this new game to be as good as the first naturally. There was some news on the Internet that got leaked the other week about hidden Easter eggs. These are gems in the game and can be used to unlock really cool bonus items like weapons and maps.
Once the revelation had broken out about the leaked Easter egg footage, the amount of YouTube videos uploaded about breakthrough was astonishing. News sites were writing articles on the spoiler at an alarming rate and by the end of the day the whole of the world wide web knew about it.
That is the power of this game and how much interest it has got just purely because of its name. I have to say myself, i loved the first addition and cannot wait for Black Ops 2 if I'm completely honest. The weapons in the new game are so good that it would take nearly all day to name them all.
The quantity of weapon choice is quite remarkable and really impressive to say the least. The quality of guns is one part of the sequel that has improved dramatically along with the graphics have got slightly better as well.
The game developers did actually have a break from this spin off of the series to concentrate on the other spin off. Modern Warfare 3 was the third installment of the Modern Warfare spin off. Black Ops and MW are all part of the Call Of Duty series. So two years later and we finally have the second part of COD Black Ops.
The shoot em up games tend to do very well in selling copies of their respected titles when it comes down to it. There seems to be a huge market for video games that have content full of action and weaponry. The latest version of Call Of Duty (Black Ops 2) is out on the 13th November 2012.
Halo Reach Winter Contingency Walkthrough on Legendary, Alone
You begin this level with a 600 ammo assault rifle and a 70 ammo magnum. You are riding in a falcon with Carter and Jun and land on top of a hill to investigate a distress beacon below. This distress beacon is fake, created by covenant forces as a trap. If you sprint down the hill, you will find an invisible Elite spec ops escaping the scene, most likely the one who created the trap. It will not attack you even if shot at, and will disappear after crossing the bridge. If you kill this Elite, it will drop a data pad which contains information about covenant glassing.
After reaching the distress beacon and possibly killing the Elite spec ops, move forward down the path to the right. Follow the path through a building, where you will come to another building with three farmers. Jorge will talk to these farmers, and they will warn you of "something in the fields." Continue following the path to the right, where you will eventually come to a farming building with covenant outside. This area is the "Outlook" firefight mission. You will find a Skirmisher major with a needle rifle on top of the building to the left. As soon as it sees you, the Skirmisher calls for backup. This triggers seven normal Grunts, one Grunt ultra, and three Skirmisher minors with needlers to move in and attack. The three Skirmisher minors run into the basement underneath you, but the Grunts and the lookout stay outside. Kill the Skirmisher major and the Grunts through the window with your magnum while using the wall next to the windows as cover. Next, move down the stairs into the basement to finish off the Skirmishers. As soon as you exit the building, two banshees will attack Jun's falcon, but they do not pose a threat to you. Swap your assault rifle for one of the Grunt's plasma pistols before leaving.
Move forward into the farm and out the gates, where you will find a Grunt minor and a Grunt ultra whom you should kill with magnum headshots. Once you reach the bridge, a phantom will drop six normal Grunts, one Grunt ultra, and three Skirmisher majors in the rocks on the other side of the bridge. Wait for the phantom to leave, then cross the bridge and use one of the large rocks as cover. Kill all of the enemies with magnum headshots, moving up to new rocks as cover if necessary.
Once you kill these enemies and cross the river, you will find four Grunts, and Elite major, three Elite ultras, and an Elite general with a concussion rifle. First kill the Grunts with your magnum by using the large rock in front of the tree as cover. Then, move backwards and into the building to your left. This building will provide you good cover from the Elites. While most of the Elites are focusing on the other Spartans, walk out of the building and remove one of the Elite's shields with an overcharged plasma pistol shot. Quickly kill them with a magnum headshot before their allies injure you, then immediately step back into the building to avoid enemy fire. Repeat this tactic to kill all of the Elites, including the general. After killing the last Elite, grab a fresh plasma pistol from one of the Grunts bodies, move forward towards the small cliff to your left, and jump down to enter the next rally point.
Part 2: Rebels don't leave plasma burns
At the bottom of the cliff, you will find a truck and health kit. Restock on health if necessary. If you enter the truck, carter will ride in the passenger's seat and Jorge will ride on the back. Because Jorge carries a turret, this provides the truck with the equivalent firepower of a standard warthog. However, there is an achievement for completing this level without entering any vehicles, so utilize sprint instead if you do not have this achievement yet.
Partway down the path, you will find two Skirmisher majors, one with a needle rifle. Whether you are in a truck or on foot, kill these Skirmishers and swap your magnum for the needle rifle. The path will then take you across a small bridge to a fork in the road. The right path will lead you into a small settlement filled with covenant. However, clearing this settlement is not part of your objective, so I suggest taking the left path to bypass it.
If you take the right path: You will almost immediately come to a courtyard surrounded by buildings where you will find four Grunts and an Elite minor. Move into the building too your left and kill the Grunts, then the Elite. Exit through the large garage door in the middle of the building. If you have the truck, you can drive right by this fight without killing the enemies. Inside the buildings, you will find an assault rifle, a 16 ammo magnum, a grenade, and two health kits.
Both of the paths combine at a large open area with a covenant antenna off to the left. If you came here quickly, you will find two Skirmishers, one with a needle rifle. Kill them both and add the needle rifle ammo to your needle rifle. Continue down the path, where you will come to a river. Depending on how quickly you got here, you will find a variety of enemies. There are usually at least five Grunts in the river, but there can also be more Grunts, Skirmishers, and even a spirit. Use the rocks on your side of the river as cover to kill all of the light infantry you can see with needle rifle headshots. Cross the river to the buildings on the other side. Here you will find three or four more Grunts and an Elite major. Kill the Grunts first, then the Elite, which triggers a distress signal from Corporal Travis. He and a group of marines are attempting to defend themselves from covenant in another settlement, so Carter instructs you to rescue them.
Exit the settlement you are currently in and take the left path up the hill. Take the second right into the building with the marines. On the lower story of the left building, there is a 30 ammo DMR in the center of the garage, marked with the ordinance symbol. Swap your needle rifle for the DMR and move outside the garage. If you did not kill the two Skirmishers at the crossroads earlier, you will find them here outside of the garage. Kill them if you see the, then take cover behind the stack of four barrels. A spirit will arrive to drop seven Grunts. Kill them with your DMR from your cover.
Has Halo Changed for Better or for Worse?
As the release date of Halo 4 draws nearer, the players who anxiously await its release begin to question whether or not Halo 4 will live up to its predecessors. Halo 1, 2, and 3 were some of the highest selling games of all time, and for good reason. Halo focuses on equality. Everyone starts the game with the same weapons, movement speed, etc.
When Halo: Reach was released, Bungie decided to change these core values and see how their audience would react. The results were not well accepted. Players found the game to be too slow, and the armor abilities to be almost game-breaking in the manner they were implemented. 343 Industries has seen what its audience does not like, and are attempting to fix where Reach went wrong. For instance, the jetpack no longer keeps its players flying in the air for a very long amount of time. Now, when a player uses the jetpack, he or she can fly almost in a burst, and will fall back before really being able to "hover" like they could in Reach. Another ability was armor lock. 343 is not even going to include armor lock into Halo 4. They feel it to be too slow for Halo 4.
Their reasoning is that if someone were to armor lock, than everyone around that player has to stop and wait for him or her to pop out of it. This caused too much of a halt in the flow of the game, and was removed. Instead, the Hardlight shield has been implemented in Halo 4. The Hardlight shield is similar to armor lock, but the player using it is only protected from the front, and they can move while using it. This fixes the halting of the flow of the game, while giving players a similar opportunity to get that same armor lock feel to the game.
343 Industries insists that in Halo 4, with the introduction to customizable classes, players will not feel that one primary weapon completely dominates all the others. This was the case in Halo 1, where the magnum was the go-to weapon for any player. In Halo 2 and Halo 3, the Battle Rifle was the player's weapon of choice. In Reach, the DMR was similar in power and range that it became the instant starting weapon for the professional circuit. However, in Halo 4, players will get to choose their own primary weapon. There are many to choose from, such as the Battle Rifle, the DMR, and the Light Rifle. 343 feels that these weapons are all balanced with each other, and that the choice made by players on which weapon to choose will be purely on personal preference, and not because one is better than the other.
It will be interesting to see in the coming months if these weapons and perks are truly balanced as 343 Industries claims. Generally, it takes a few weeks before most players find that there is in fact one starting weapon that dominates over the rest, but 343 may have changed that in Halo 4.
What NHL 13 Could Offer You During the Lockout
If you enjoy watching hockey games but also enjoy video games then NHL 13 is the game for you. More so than ever this game provides rich content, graphics and gameplay sophistication. There is almost every hockey league there is in this game whether you are looking to play a junior team or a KHL team, its there. It's probably a good thing they have all those leagues in this game because the 2012 NHL lockout won't offer much desire to go into dynasty mode or playing another NHL team online. It's still pretty exciting to play as an AHL team, especially if online roster updates include Ryan Nugent-Hopkins playing for the Oklahoma City Barons or Ryan Johansen donning the Springfield Falcons uniform. The speed of the game will be slightly slower because of the lower overall skillset but if you're the type who likes to be taken over by curiosity then playing the AHL season mode ( Or just AHL games in Dynasty Mode ) will be the thing for you.
If you go to a gamer website like Gamespot or 1up they haven't rated this newest version of the NHL series as highly as previous releases but that is only due to the unmastered Artificial Intelligence and player rating inconsistencies but that is only minor, the user ratings are still a bit higher than the critic scores. For once they are not being criticized for the lack of innovation after every annual release because they have a revamped player skating engine that makes the skating of each player far more realistic than previous games. It also changes the concept of passing because players deep in the offensive zone perform many tight turns and side steps with the puck to look for an open player to pass to. This makes the experience much more fulfilling because it gives an element of unpredictability into the mix.
You can really set your ego into new heights by creating your own player and have him play as a junior and work his way into NHL stardom. You can customize everything like gameplay style such as a dangler, power forward or even a butterfly goaltender. You can also even customize the brand of your equipment like deciding to wear a CCM helmet or choose to stick handle with a Reebok stick and theres also a performance enhancing option for your stick and your skates. For your stick you set the angle of your curve, keeping the curve flat will enable you can shoot low and perform better backhand shots or you can go right to the other side of the barrel by having a very curled blade so you can pick your favourite spot to shoot at more definitively but the drawback to that is you have higher chance of missing the net. The only thing you can do with your skates is set the blade length on your skate. A short length will make you more agile and a long length will make you execute longer skating strides. A length in between the former two is desirable as well.
If you have feelings of loneliness or depression because you miss hockey but you don't want to go out to the local rink or refuse to take up interest to another league then you can get your fill by playing this great hockey simulation which is made by a great company Electronic Arts which by the way had been making these games for almost 20 years and show no signs of quitting soon. Being able to adapt is key to overcoming any adversity. I hope you enjoyed this short article and I will blog again soon.

Medal of Honor Warfighter: Review
Medal of Honor Warfighter is a sequel not a lot of people wanted. But, we got it anyway. To be honest, I was really looking forward to this game, after loving MOH from 2010. MOH is now running on the Frostbite 2 engine and looks better than ever, with graphics on par with Battlefield 3. This is one of the better looking modern shooters out now. But is a new look enough to make you get this? Even when there is a wave of triple A games coming in the next weeks? The answer is a solid yes!
To start off, Im going to get the comparing out of the way. This is a perfect blend between Call of Duty and Battlefield 3 (Multiplayer wise). If your looking for a more realistic fast paced shooter thats very tactical, but played on medium sized maps, look no further. This game feels a lot like Battlefield 3 (and looks like it), which is a good thing!
This is a surprisingly tactical game. I would go as far as saying its more tactical then Battlefield. With the medium sized maps and clear objectives to follow, the game has some great moments. For example the game mode Hotspot is sort of a search and destroy mode. The team defending stays around the base scattered around guarding most points where the enemy can come. If you are attacking, the best way is too split your platoon into two groups and each group try to infitrate a flanking spot. The close quarter spaces and higher player count, call for some truly awesome moments!
If your a fan of killstreaks your in luck. While this isn't tallying up your kills to reward you, it does count up your points. After getting so many points your presented with your kill streak. When you get a streak you have the option to choose from Offensive or Defensive. I really enjoy the option and each of them really help out the team. For example the first streak you earn is the option for a mortar attack (offensive), or a smoke screen(defensive). Both are very useful.
There are a few modes (way more than the last MOH). There are a bunch of guns, with a lot of customizaton options. There are six different classes to chose from, each one having a new look, different kill streaks and stuff like that. I do not know how many ranks there are, but I know there's a ton load.
The campaign seems very fun so far. I enjoyed the hell out of the last MOH campaign. This one seems to be following the same footsteps, giving an emotional journey. This is a highlight for a first person shooter, because most campaigns are horrible. This one is actually worth the play through.
If Medal of Honor Warfighter can have steady updates that fix bugs and other issues, that would be great. Also release a few map packs or other DLC that offers new guns, game modes, or customization options. Things like that keep the community still interested in the game and also brings new players to the game as well. They already have an update right when you start the game, it fixes a lot of things. They also already have a DLC releasing in December, to go along with the new film Zero Dark Thirty. So the next few months look good for the multiplayer aspect of the game.
Medal of Honor is now back in the first person shooter arena and its great. I feel like it has its own identity now and can stand toe to toe with the other big releases this year. I think if your into these kinds of games, you should definitely give it a shot. If not, just skip it. MOH
Great Tips for FIFA 13
FIFA 13 has been out for little over three weeks now and already people are searching the Internet for tips and hints to the game. The new game is harder than any other FIFA game to date. The introduction of the new first touch control has made players of the franchise even more frustrated than in recent years passed.
Some of the tips that we are going to be covering in this article will consist of the following.
- How to create goal scoring opportunities
- Making the most out of set pieces that come your way
- The career mode and all you need to know
- How to defend like a champion gamer
- The general knowledge you need to know
So creating really good goal scoring opportunities seems to be the most asked question over the Internet. It's reasonably simple, in the fact that the first thing that you should do is watch the computer play for a few games. By watching and monitoring the computer, you will see just how they manage to get through defences and unlock the opposing teams tight back four.
Another great tip on FIFA 13 for scoring goals is to pass the ball around a good 10 times before making the killer last pass. In doing this, you will be gaining some much needed momentum in the build up. This is absolutely pivotal on the new game as the momentum leads to goals in the end.
When you earn yourself a set pice all be it a corner or a free kick in your favour, you need to make the most of the opportunities. Once in a while try confusing the team you are playing against by doing the short corner. This is unexpected if you do this once per game and catches the opposition off guard. With free kicks you will need to aim the incoming cross to the back post as most chances get converted that way.
In the amazing career mode you can actually request funds from your clubs chairmen once every transfer window. During the transfer window just click on request funds and then make sure you meet the clubs requirements otherwise you will get the sack at the end of the season. The other cool tip on career mode is to get loan signings for a whole season.
These loan signings will not cost the earth and will only cost you with your clubs wage budget. You can sell one of your best players, and get three or four quality signings as he's replacement. This can be done with a number of players throughout your squad to strengthen your bid for a promotion campaign.
The defending on FIFA 13 is not that hard this year but in case anyone is struggling with it, we have two great tips to help you with it. The first tip is when you gain back possession of the ball again, make sure you take no chances and clear the ball immediately.
If your having trouble regaining possession of the ball, then try holding the contain button to keep really close to the player with the ball and not let him out of your sight. This is amazingly effective in defence and wins back the ball more times than it fails.
Borderlands 2 Review
Back in 2009 a relatively small developer named Gearbox announced that they'd be releasing a game called Borderlands. No one really knew what to expect. I know I didn't. I remember hearing about the game all that year and I didn't want to get too hyped up, just to be disappointed. But I was pleasantly surprised by the final game, a very addictive loot-based shooter. Wow, I never thought I'd ever say that. Why? Well because those two really don't go hand in hand. Luckily, Gearbox found a way to melt down what makes both Halo and Diablo so successful. You had the polished first person shooter game play of Bungie's baby, and the incredible sense of wonder while you're looting creatures like Blizzard's game Diablo.
So with a game so good, it wasn't a surprise that Gearbox decided to develop another entry in the Borderlands series. One of the first game's faults was that the areas were too bland- you were literally stuck in a desert the whole entire time. Luckily that issue is resolved in the second game. There's plenty of varied terrain to blast away bugs, skags and general psychopaths. We also got a slew of all new playable characters.
In the first game you had four very different and outlandish classes to play as. This one is no different. The only class that plays radically differently is the Assassin class, also known as Zer0. What makes him different is the fact that his melee attacks are generally useful. I went with this specialization throughout the game, and it was very different to play as a guy who's meant to slice and dice rather than use one of the bajillion guns in the game.
Actually, that's one of the game's many strong points: the vast array of weapons. Most of the time you'll find some common trashy ones but sometimes you'll catch a break and pick up something truly amazing. At one point I had a gun that talked back to me every time I reloaded or zoomed in. Yeah, sure, eventually it got a little old but I couldn't help but chuckle every time he said something off the wall.
If you played the first one, then of course you'll recognize the outlandish sense of humor. In fact, I think it's possibly one of the funniest video games ever made. The main adversary Handsome Jack is deviously hilarious with his off-putting sense of destruction. He makes for a way better bad guy than in the previous game. Every time I saw him pop up on the top right of my screen I knew there was going to be something worth listening to.
Not everything is perfect. There are some really, really mundane missions. There definitely could have been a little bit more variety when it came to quests at hand. You'll fight through an area, come to a big open spot and you'll no doubt be encountering the boss of that area. Sure, the boss might have something humorous about him but when every other quest is a kill mission you might expect a little bit more of a unique way to get to him.
That's another gripe I had with this game: the traveling system. With such a big game space to play in, I would have thought they would try and polish the driving mechanics in this game. Though not terrible, the vehicles seem to always be driving with soap-covered wheels. It's just not responsive enough for such a polished game- the only change that they've given them is that they're able to use an emergency break which in many cases just leads to more problems. That's one of the gripes I had with the first game but there were minimal changes to it with this sequel. Luckily, you won't find yourself in any vigorous vehicle missions.
Finally, I need to touch upon the amazing cooperative mode. This game is truly made to be played with your friends on PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Sure, it's fun to just blast around with random people but if you actually know the guys you're playing with you won't have to worry about random jerks stealing all your loot. I just wish they had some sort of loot based system like some of the Massively Mutliplayer games out there. Maybe a need before greed loot system or something. Other than that, the multiplayer is great and was essentially lag free every time I loaded it up.
If you're only going to get a couple of games this year, I would highly recommended picking up Borderlands 2. It's well worth the price tag, and you'll have endless amounts of fun destroying baddies and looting the many interesting weapons in the game. There are plenty more triple-A titles coming out this year but if you want a for sure thing right now, pick up Gearbox's latest. You'll be making the right decision.
FIFA 13 Ultimate Team Formations
he Importance Of Understanding ALL FIFA Formations
A basic knowledge of all formations and their strength's and weaknesses should be the foundation of how we proceed through the team building process. We cannot depend on having only expertise in the formations we use and are good at it.
Reasons that we must become astute in every FUT formations are:
- Its much easier to gameplan against your opponents when you know the theories involved with THEIR formations.
- Knowing the strengths of different formations allows you to adapt and change strategies to fit changes on your teams roster, if need be.
- This will give you real flexibility when building your FIFA 13 Teams.
- You will ultimately become a much better trader at the Market Place.
- Knowledge of ALL formations will undoubtedly increase your understanding of EACH and EVERY formation by itself.
- The more you know about the game the more you will appreciate it.
Complete List Of FIFA Ultimate Team Formations
5-2-2-1
This formation, as is any formation with 4 or more in the backfield, is a strong defensive formation. Very useful for quick forwards and teams that utilize counter-attacks often.
5-2-1-2
Of all the '5' formations, this one is used least. Another formation that requires a better than average center forward - mostly because the majority of play is going to come through the middle. Basically your center forward is backed by 2 CM's, while he supports the 2 strikers. When using this formation, build your team with counter attacking in mind.
5-3-2
This is a favorite among many players. As it is a defensive formation that allows for a lot of attack opportunities. You will need talented wing-backs that can quickly make space and create instant opportunities for the midfielders to advance the ball through the middle. This should also create nice options as there are 3 midfielders that can distribute to the strikers from almost any part of the field.
3-4-1-2
A well rounded formation -the3-4-1-2 hinges on your center forward. Spare very little to find yourself a dominate player at this position, as he will be your main set-up man for the strikers. What you will lack in defense you will make up for when advancing the ball up field.
3-4-2-1
Here we have just 1 striker - supported by the left and right forwards. The forwards must be able to create wider shape on the offensive side of the field, making room for solid scoring opportunities for the lone striker. You must have above average center backs to prevent your opponents from creating too much space around YOUR corner flags.
3-4-3
Designed for players that find success in crossing the ball from side to side, looking for opportunities near the opponents flags. Keep solid players in your backfield - with only 3 defenders, they must be able to handle many tough situations.
3-5-2
2 CDM's will help create better support for your defense, which will be much needed with this slightly altered midfield scenario. In this formation, the CAM, who plays forward in the midfield, should be an outstanding ball handler. He will likely carry much of the workload. Your 2 midfielders will also double as wingbacks, meaning that they will have to be young and in outstanding physical condition.
4-1-2-1-2
With a diamond shaped midfield, this is a more balanced formation widely used by many players. This standard formation has many players that like to use it -therefor player cards will ultimately cost you more. Keep this in mind when building your team and when heading to the player marketplace.
4-2-3-1
Used for ball possession near your opponents box - there are no midfielder or wingers. Instead, you will use CAM's on either side of the field, providing balance and flexibility for moving up and down the field. And because there will be only 1 striker - you must pay for a top-notch player. When he gets an opportunity, he must be able to make the most of it.
4-2-2-2
The Best Basketball Game Ever
My love and passion for basketball cannot be described with one word. What a great sport! Only the fittest athletes can compete at the highest levels. Fortunately, 2k13 allows me to express my love for basketball beyond my physical limitations. The 2k Franchise has been the best selling basketball game in recent years. No other game on the market compares. There are some so many things that make it different from any game out there.
This game has official licensing which sets it apart. Players are designed with the latest uniforms and shoes. Imagine playing with your favorite player wearing the latest pair of Nike. Everything is realistic about this game. The interactive features allow the user to change everything from the players shoes to the tape that is used to support an injury. The players actually develop sweat that you can easily see as the game progresses. Be cautious not to overly use any player because they will tire. If you are not cautious the player can get injured.
The flow of the game is fantastic. Running a fast break can lead to some of the most exciting alley-oops. 2k13 does not give you the arcade experience that you may see in other video games. The player movement is natural and fluid. The fans in the seats actually look realistic and react to what is going in the game. The graphics for this game are amazing. They are such high quality that you can see reflections off the court. The resolution is so high that you can even see if a player has skin issues.
The online features are what make this game different from any other game out there. As long as you have service the game provides real time information. Everything from the latest schedules to injuries is updated via the net. The announcers even give current scores of real games that took place that day. The attributes will adjust to the real life performance of the players. So if your favorite player is going through a shooting slump, the game will adjust accordingly. The best feature is the ability to compete online. You can challenge anyone in the world with an internet connection.
This game has become so popular that their biggest competitor has not released a game in three seasons. At one point I swore my loyalty the competition, but once I played 2k I never looked back. If you are looking for the most realistic game for sale, give this one a try.
Top 5 80s Arcade Games
I can remember looking forward to going to the local convenience store as a kid to play the latest arcade games in the 1980's. My friends and I would dig up as many quarters as we could find and spend countless hours playing these ground breaking games. The late 70' and early 80's were known as the "golden age" of the arcade game industry. These games reached mainstream popularity during this time in part because of new types of game play involving hand-eye coordination, skill, timing and shooting things as fast as possible. The arcade game industry reached its peak in 1982 by generating $8 billion in quarters, equal to $18.5 billion in 2011! These are our top 5.
5. Defender
I remember this being an extremely hard game although very challenging and entertaining to play. The object of the game is to fight waves of invading aliens while protecting astronauts on an alien planet. Any astronauts that are captured by the aliens come back as mutants to attack you. If you failed to protects the astronauts, the planet would explode and become full of mutants. Defender earned high praise for its audio and video and was listed as the number six arcade game in technical, creative, and cultural impact by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2008. It is noted as being one of the most difficult games in the industry, utilizing a joystick and five other buttons in order to play. Defender sold 60,000 hardware units and generated gross revenues of $1 billion through 2002.
4. Ms. Pac-Man
Coming in at number 4 is the girlfriend of the original Pac-Man with 125,000 hardware units sold. Although she never got her man, she managed to entertain millions of people around the world. She was also a television star, appearing in the Pac-Man animated TV series where she played Pepper, Pac-Man's wife. The object of the game was to eat all the pellets and avoid the ghosts to score as many points as possible. Eating certain power pellets allowed her to eat the ghosts and there were also fruit bonuses that when consumed would increase point value. As you reach higher levels, the ghosts move faster and the energy pellets change the ghosts for less time. Ms. Pac-Man wears a little red bow and scenes of her and Pac-Man's relationship are shown during intermissions between levels. One other noteworthy feature that differs from the original Pac-Man game is that the orange ghost is named Sue, instead of Clyde. The game is said to have 256 levels but obviously I have never made it that far!
3. Donkey Kong
This was one of my ultimate favorites to play as a kid. The game was groundbreaking for its time and featured an ape, a damsel in distress and an Italian plumber playing out a wacky storyline. Mario, a carpenter, runs up platforms and climbs ladders at a construction site while the ape named Donkey Kong throws barrels at him. Mario must also dodge fire and other obstacles to get to the top of the platforms and rescue the damsel being held by the grouchy Donkey Kong. Mario became Nintendo's flagship character and spawned several different game sequels. Nintendo originally wanted to make a Popeye comics game but could not get a license for him. They decided to develop their own characters and created a love triangle between an ape, a carpenter, and a girlfriend, that was similar to the love triangle between Popeye, Bluto, and Olive Oyl. Donkey Kong was created in 1981 and sold 132,000 hardware units and generated $280 million through 1982.
2. Space Invaders
This is probably one of the most addictive games I have ever played. When it eventually came out on Atari 2600, my friends and I would play it for hours on end. The game consists of a laser canon at the bottom of the screen that moves from side to side while you shoot at waves of approaching alien invaders. After shooting the first wave of aliens, the remaining ones begin to approach much faster. Soon the aliens begin firing back and there are bunkers you can move beneath to avoid their fire. Eventually the bunkers are destroyed by the aliens firing at them which make the game all the more challenging. The sound effects are eerily exciting as you play. Although this game was released in 1978, we decided to include it in this list because of its impact on the video gaming industry. It was so advanced for its time and was almost solely responsible for expanding the video game industry from a novelty to a global industry. It sold 360,000 hardware units and generated $2.7 billion in
Assassins Creed 3: Game Review
To start off, I am a fan of the Assassin Creed games and think that they are one of the highlights of this generation of gaming. I thought the first Assassins Creed was a very ambitious game, but sadly didn't reach its full potential. The second game in the series was a huge improvement! Brotherhood (the third game), is probably the strongest entry of the first four. The fourth, Revalations, was a bit of a let down.
Now lets talk about Assassins Creed 3! Well, its absolutely an amazing game. The franchise has been taken a new direction, to America. Taking place during the Revolutionary War. You play as Connor, a native American. This game takes you on an emotional journey that concludes Desmond's story arch. Switching back and fourth from Connor to Desmond was the best as its ever been and wasn't a dread. The story is pretty much Desmond trying to save the world and he can only do so by discovering certain things in his ancestors memories. This is by far the most interesting Assassins Creed game and I found myself actually caring for Connor.
The game play is for the most part, super identical to all the other Assassins Creed games before it. You hold down a button to run and climb on things, a button to jump, a button to attack, and a button to counter. Even though its the same, its the most fluid. The fighting is still not that big of a challenge. Most enemies wait their turn to be killed. This isn't a complaint, because its very fun watching yourself rake down enemies.
The graphics are a huge highlight in this game. They are clearly a lot better then all the other games in the series. All the textures look smooth and the lighting is pretty great, it makes the game look a whole lot better. Most character models look great, although some look very bland. The only problem with the graphics I had was with the shadows. For example a shadow on your face that your nose would cast onto your cheek, because of the way light is hitting the characters face. Sometimes it would glitch out and move a lot. But other than that, this is one of the best looking games this generation.
The game took me 12 hours to complete. I only played the main missions and a few side missions. But I'm sure if you tried to get 100% memory sequence and do all the side missions, this would easily be a 25+ hour game. I also played the Benedict Arnold missions (exclusive to PlayStation). Its a very dull side mission, that only take about 30 minutes to complete.
Overall, I felt like Connors story was very developed. You play with him from his early childhood all the way to him being an adult. I thought his story was well told and well concluded and had a fantastic ending. Desmond's story on the other hand, was a bit of a let down. The mission with Desmond include, finding these batteries to open a doorway. The missions just throw you a whole bunch of enemies and gives you a pretty easy path to follow. I thought the end of his story was a cop out. Its sad when Connors story is told and ended in one game and you feel more for him, when Desmond's story spends five games and you don't really give a crap about him.
Final Score: 9.0
5 Things You Need to Do Before Buying A Video Game
Buying a game is like anticipating a newborn child, preparing a place for the new member of the family. For many gamers buying a new game is a big deal considering the costs involved. So, what are players expected to do before they venture out to get the game they want desperately? Here's some tips you can use:
Save Up
It's a no brainer when it comes to saving up for the game you want. Some games cost a whopping $59.99 and burning $60 (plus tax) in one go can burn a sizable hole in your wallet. If you're a smart saver you can do the following: once you know the estimated release date of the game, put in $10 each month into your savings. $10 a month for 6 months equals an easy $60 without worry. You don't need to resort to starvation to get the game; all you need to is save away small amounts.
Making Space
If you're a game collector then tossing away old games is out of the question. However, if they are games you never play at all and losses its charisma, then it's time to let it go. Gamers have a tendency to collect games over the years which can clog up the room. Thus, to make way for new games, the ideal solution is to sell the games to make a sizable profit. eBay is one of the suggested choices; games that you no longer enjoy can be enjoyed by others. Plus, the benefits are that you gain more money in your pocket! Yard sales and flea markets are other examples where you can make some good money. People are willing to pay double for a hard to find game and with a rare game in your collection, you can ensure that your wallet will budge with easily earned cash!
Enough Funds
Make sure you have enough funds before purchasing your desired game. The last thing you want is to be short on money then the collector's edition you eyed will soon belong to someone else. Applying strategy number one (as previously mentioned) will allow you to get your game. You can also look at it this way; if by chance during this time you are dieting, you can cut down on eating costs (especially junk food) then transfer the leftover funds to your game savings. This way, you'll have plenty of money to use plus you'll be in great shape!
Choosing Your Game
During the peak of game release season, gamers are conflicted to buying two or three games in one go, however, this splurge spending can affect your funds. When several hit titles are coming out, decide which title you want the most. Look for the title you've been waiting for after reading and researching about the title. Make absolutely sure this is the title for you; many gamers have experienced this dilemma and bought a game they thought would be good when in actuality, it is a flop. When buying games, read reviews to see if other players enjoy the game as well. Look for the game's highlighted qualities and then you can make the purchase without regrets.

World of Warcraft Strat Guide
World of Warcraft has widely become one of the more popular, most played games on the internet. Often abbreviated as WoW, and known as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), its increasing popularity is quite evident as more than 10 million users across the globe, subscribe to play.
As more and more players become attached to WoW, it seemingly becomes imperative to spend countless hours perfecting your skills in hopes of leveling up. But as true as this may be, the term "practice makes perfect" does not take precedence in the methodology of today's WoW heads. Those who truly want to enhance their skills have turned to cheat sheets and Strategy Guides (or World of Warcraft strat guides).
WoW Strat Guides often provide lots of great tips and tricks, as well as strategic insight that will help you quickly get through levels, obtain gold faster as you learn to better embrace the game. Leveling up in WoW has always been considered a fairly easy but a slow process until now, as these World of Warcraft strat guides provide maps of the city, character call-outs, dungeons and quest locations, etc.
There was a time when it was actually considered "fun" to take on the challenge of advancing in video games without the use of any cheats or strategy guides. The goal was to complete the game, level by level, acquiring bonus items by means of discovery and chance, rather than pre-discovered cheats. You were required to use you brain strategically and venture the quest as an unknown territory. It was like being inside the game, contemplating your next move with no help. Some would call it a chess match on a more visual level.
Now the quest is no less interesting because you can proceed through the game with maps and other tips on what to do, where to go, and how to do it. These World of Warcraft strategy guides didn't take the fun out of the game, they actually added to the addiction of playing. Entering WoW through 'the side door' did not minimize the feeling of achievement either, but rather increased it. This trend has actually gotten so widespread that a sub-competition has emerged. Completing WoW victoriously is the obvious goal, but acquiring more tips and secretes than you peers has also become a contest in itself.
The average World of Warcraft player spends 20 to 23 hours per week playing the game, so we can assume that there is a significant amount of time spent investigating strategy guides and finding inside tips. Players who engage in WoW as a leisure activity typically get their enjoyment from:
- Exploring the virtual world
- Socializing with in-game and real-life buddies
- Challenging virtual and real players
And when playing amongst real-life friends, you are considered a WoW Guru when you expose the new tricks and methods to you buddies, as they will sometimes beg you for secrets. This alone, keeps players searching for different World of Warcraft strat guides, just to have one up on the competition.
How to Connect Your PSP to Your TV
To connect your PSP (Playstation Portable) to your TV you can simply plug the AV cable into the headphone jack socket on your PSP (Playstation Portable) and the other end into the TV. There are different types of AV cables such as S-Video and component/YpPbPr cables. The type you need will depend on what sort of input your TV has.
The second step is to change "Connected Display Settings" on your PSP (Playstation Portable). If you have a widescreen TV select 16:9. If not, choose 4:3. If you have a HDTV the best Component/D-Terminal Output setting will be "progressive" which will use the TV's 480p resolution mode. For TVs that are not HD the best option will be "Interface" - this uses standard definition 480i.
Now simply select the appropriate input source on your TV, turn on your PSP and hold down the "display" button for 5 seconds. Voila! you can play your PSP on your TV screen.
There is one major downside to the method mentioned above; if you connect your PSP to your TV using only an AV cable, you will not achieve a full screen picture, it will only take up a small portion of the screen; obviously this is not ideal if, like me, you are a serious gamer. Luckily there is a solution - a PSP to TV Converter. This device can connect directly to the HDMI port on your HD TV and will enable you to play your PSP in full HD and in full screen.
It is also possible to connect your PSP directly to your computer monitor, PC monitor or LCD display by utilising the monitors VGA (Video Graphics Array) port. Unfortunately a direct connection between the two has the same problem as connecting your PSP directly to your TV; you will not achieve a full screen picture. Thankfully there is also a solution for this problem in the form of a PSP to PC VGA Converter. This device will enable you to play your PSP in full screen on your PC VGA monitor.
Good quality PSP to PC VGA converters should also have a VGA pass through. This will enable you to keep your PC or Mac and your PSP connected to the monitor at all times. In my opinion this is essential so you don't have to mess around with the wiring every time you want to play your PSP in full screen.
How To Level Fast In WoW Mists Of Pandaria
Probably the most often asked question by new World of Warcraft players is how to level fast in WoW.
You are no doubt wondering how it is certain players seem to be able to level at a pace much faster than everyone else.
You often hear claims of cheating or hacking of some kind because players do not understand there are some pro techniques and tools that make leveling a toon in WoW extremely fast.
Here are some of the top tips:
- Make sure you have bag space - This means making sure you have all your bag slots filled with the largest bags you can afford from the start. Constantly having to find somewhere to empty bags will take you off your questing routes and wastes time.
- Forget buying gear at low levels - The early levels are not really aided by buying gear and the time wasted running to an auction house can be better used completing a few more quests. You are going to find yourself spending a ton of time staring at the auction house window and wasting gold that is not going to serve any useful purpose.
- Make another toon just for mail - If you have a low level toon that stays stationed in a town that has an auction house you can continue questing and mail items. This allows for unlimited space as mail can stay in a box for 30 days. After 30 days it is mailed back to your character. This is a huge savings of time.
- Do not quest above your head - Dying is the biggest waste of time in World of Warcraft because you often have a long walk back to your body. Knowing the proper areas and quests for your level is critical to staying alive and leveling as fast as possible.
Making sure to follow all the tips above while using one of the better in game WoW leveling guide addons is exactly how pro players have been power leveling toons much faster than the rest of the World of Warcraft population for years.
These addon guides are programmed to take you through the most efficient questing routes in the game by use of a detailed guide window and a directional arrow.

Review: Saints Row The Third (PS3)
When Saints Row 2 came out in 2008 it was an unapologetically violent, raunchy, profane and outrageously silly genre parody. Some dismissed it as a Grand Theft Auto Clone, but in reality, Saints Row 2 was a unique, mayhem filled, thrill ride that gave us colorful characters, top of the line voice acting and a gritty, Guy Ritchie style storyline. Saints Row 2 had some of the best character and vehicle customization options in the genre and despite the lackluster visuals and unrefined controls; it was my favorite action game of the year.
Saints Row The Third was one of my most anticipated titles of 2011. The trailers promised everything that was great about Saints Row 2, times a hundred. On November 15, 2011 reality sunk in. The sequel was out and like a hurricane it destroyed all my hopes for the sequel and was over before I could scream for help.
The Good
- The first few hours are a blast
- If you can stomach the goofiness, there is a ton of it
- Moments of brilliance
The Bad
- Very underwhelming graphics
- Embarrassing storyline and characters
- Idiotic gimmicks replaced the charm of the series
Saints Row The Third is loud, obnoxious and tasteless. The last game managed to balance the ridiculous with the brilliant, but Volition's latest outing is a huge disappointment for fans of the series. Gamers unfamiliar with the previous title should immediately stop reading and go play Saints Row 2 in order to understand my bitterness.
Once upon a time, when pimps ruled the world
Since the last game's events, The Saints have gone from street gangsters to owning a media empire. We see a return of our favorite character Johnny Gat and Shaundi, but neither of them gets the screen time they deserve.
The first tutorial mission is a heist gone wrong. The bank tellers start fighting back with military grade weapons and it leads to a chaotic shootout between The Saints and the Stilwater P.D. The Saints end up in jail and you learn about the Syndicate, a criminal organization led by Phillipe Loren, who coincidentally owns the bank you tried to rob and has the police in his pocket. The story then takes you to Steelport, the new city that the Saints will try to take from the Syndicate.
Beyond the promising intro, the game becomes duller with each objective. The storyline hangs on a thread throughout the campaign as each mission gushes with overdone dialogue and cheap gimmicks.
In some of the earlier developer interviews, Volition claimed that they would focus on the more ridiculous nature of the franchise, but I never imagined they would take it this far. What you see in the previews is exactly, and unfortunately, all you get. The purple dildo weapon that seemed so funny the first time it was shown in trailers has more character than the rest of the Saints Crew.
The developers boasted about the amount of content they would bring into the game, but not only is it ironically smaller, lacking everything that was great about the previous title, it even reuses most of the mini missions from the predecessor. Cheap! Very Cheap!
Been there, done that, please bring back Johnny Gat
For a game that tries so hard to be unique with its vulgar attitude (which I generally don't mind if done right), Saints Row The Third comes off as extremely repetitive and boring. I am not looking for groundbreaking gameplay elements or graphics, but for charmingly abrasive characters that made the previous game so much fun. This isn't really a spoiler since it happens in the first mission, but Johnny Gat dies, the one character that would have likely made a difference in this masquerade.
The developers couldn't even keep the goofiness persistent. All exciting missions take place in the first half of the game and you're left with redundant objectives until the extremely anti climactic finale. The mission structure is dishearteningly conservative, especially when considering the length of the game, which is around 17 hrs (compared to the 30 hours in Saints Row 2).
Ugly, purple duckling
I didn't expect a graphical masterpiece, but I was hoping for a step up from Saints Row 2. There is minor polish here and there, but considering the entire engine was re built from ground up, the visuals are very underwhelming.
My biggest disappointment is the character creator. The character models look bad and the outfits, while large in selection, are goofy and lack any of the customization options from the last game. Little details, such as the ability to mix and match every single item of clothing and the super flexible weight sliders are all gone. Everything is replaced by ridiculously contrived costumes that lose their charm within the first few hours. It's funny the first time you try on a bondage outfit, but the juvenile humor wears off fast.
- The first few hours are a blast
- If you can stomach the goofiness, there is a ton of it
- Moments of brilliance
- Very underwhelming graphics
- Embarrassing storyline and characters
- Idiotic gimmicks replaced the charm of the series

Simple Tips On How To Fix Your Xbox 360:
1. One of the main causes of the e74 error code display on your Xbox unit is because of overheating of the system. When this happen the internal parts of the system heats up and then it begins to malfunction.
One easy tip you can try at home is to make sure your Xbox is in a well ventilated place. Allow it to breathe.
