Madden 13: Game Review

Lets be honest, Madden 10 stepped things up in the franchise, but 11 and 12 were more of the same and not worth the full 60$ price tag. But now with the new infinity engine, the Madden franchise has reached the next step. Madden 13 is easily the best football game out right now and the best Madden.

Madden 13 features a whole new presentation system. Weather its loading screens, in game animations, or presenting stats on the screen, and it looks great! The graphics have improved, but they arent that noticable. EA has added a whole bunch of new animation for players, so we are not seeing the same things over and over. Its just a better overall football experience and the infinity engine completely over shadows everything else.

The infinity engine deals with physics. Tackling, running, and blocking are fantastic to watch and even better to play. The new engine works well, but could be tweaked a bit with and update. Youll get a couple plays during a game where some tackles do not look natural. But its forgivable, because the overall experience is great.

They totally rehauled the main menus, but in-game menus are the same. Everything is now on one screen. I like this better then previous versions. The only problem I have menu-wise, is the franchise mode menus. They are completely broken. Long response, takes to long to find simple stats that should be promoted on the screen at all times.

Franchise mode is mostly the same. Along with the news feed, we now have a tweeter feed. This new feature is interesting, I enjoy it. I haven't yet played any other game mode besides play now and franchise.

I also noticed right when I booted up the game and connected to the internet, it prompted me to update rosters. This is a cool feature right off from the start. So now every time you play a game, all players should be on the teams they are in real life.

Every inch of this game is an overall step up from Madden 12. This is the most innovative Madden in awhile and its great. Its fun to play, weather you like running the ball or passing. The game really caters to your play style.

Overall this is a pretty good game, and a great sports game! I'm planning on putting a lot of time into this game. I'm already half way through my second season and am not bored of it yet.
